Mr. Gangl is a senior ASI Associate. Until recently he occupied the position of Senior Executive Vice President of Commercial Development, Group Shareholdings and Acquisitions of Vienna International Airport, a company where he spent 35 years of his professional life. He earned a Masters Degree in Economics at Vienna's University of Economics in 1967.
He was responsible for Vienna International Airport's successful Privatization Project and the two share floatations in 1992 and 1995 as well as the stock trade sale in 2001.
Having served as chairman in many Economics and Finance Committees of all major international airport organizations for the last 30 years, he has earned a reputation for his knowledge of aviation, economics and commercial issues as well as for his outstanding leadership in the international Aviation Industry.
Mr. Gangl is also a frequent lecturer at London's University of Westminster and Cranfield University's College of Aeronautics (UK). He is acting as privatization advisor to Governmental bodies worldwide and has made numerous presentations on economic and financial issues at international aviation conferences and written many articles on airport privatization in aviation journals. He was in charge of many Vienna International Airport successful international airport acquisition/BOT projects including:

- Ciudad Real Airport in Spain
- Malta International Airport
