Ms. Schneider is the Director of Operations of ASI. She is an organisational performance technologist who merges instructional and systems technology skills with knowledge, project and operations management abilities. Furthermore, she has developed substantial experience in consulting, business development and client relationship management. She holds an undergraduate degree in Communication Studies as well as a Master's degree in Educational Technology from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. Her thesis focussed on the authority and credibility of bloggers in the field of training and development, investigating the value of edublogging as a form of self-directed learning as well as its potential contribution to communities of practice. The study was reformatted and published under the title "Edublogging: A Qualitative Study of Training and Development Bloggers" and has already been well received and recommended by the educational technology community. In April 2010, she was invited to join the team of contributors at Brandon Hall’s Workplace Learning Today where she was a member and an active blogger until the blog was discontinued in July 2011. A strong believer of research into practice, she has since been engaged in Doctoral research on communities of practice and knowledge management.
Ms. Schneider started her career in 1990 with the Royal Bank of Canada where she developed her skills in operations management and in customer relationship management. Since 2000, she has developed considerable work experience in systemic needs analysis and instructional design as well as community of practice, knowledge management and social computing (Web 2.0) systems development. She was the Director of Blended Learning Strategies at Documedia, a leading Canadian e-learning producer, where she advised clients on how to plan, design, implement, manage and evaluate their training and professional development projects. During this time, she served 2 terms on the Quebec association of e-learning producers Alliance E-learning and was president for 2007-2008.
She also worked as an Educational Technologist with the Centre for Instructional Technology at Concordia University's John Molson School of Business (JMSB) where she contributed to the development of the joint ICAO-JMSB Aviation Security Management Professional Programme. In addition, her functions included designing distance education courses and reengineering the instructional material development process for the Global Aviation MBA Programme.
Currently, Ms. Schneider is the Director of Operations at Aviation Strategies International (ASI). Her mandate consists of working on the company’s strategic corporate positioning, business planning and development, including optimizing ASI’s client relation management strategy. In addition, she coordinates the operations of the ASI international network of associates and is working on the launching of the ASI Institute. She is also part of the management team heading the implementation of the online community of practice of the Global ACI-ICAO Airport Management Professional Accreditation Programme (AMPAP) for which ASI is the designated Programme Administrator.
