Anniken
Kloster is an ASI Associate. She is a graduate of Dartmouth
College (A.B. Geography and Urban Studies, 1984), the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Master of City
Planning, 1987), and McGill University (Diploma in Environmental
Studies, 1994).
Ms. Kloster is an urban planner with international
experience. She has worked on projects in Vermont (USA),
Norway and Morocco with a wide variety of issues ranging
from land preservation and downtown development to primary
health issues. The management of these projects included
monitoring and evaluation, the organization of public
meetings and professional conferences and seminars,
field visits with politicians and public administrators,
the presentation of findings and implementation of plans.
More recently, she worked as a land use planning consultant
on the Samara Airport Master Plan (Russia) for the International
Aviation Management Training Institute (IAMTI) where
she was responsible for evaluating surrounding land
uses and environmental issues relevant to the planned
airport expansion.
Ms. Kloster also has a broad experience in coordination
and team organization. She has run two downtown Oslo
business coalitions and has been responsible for running
several non-profit organizations in Montreal.
