Aviation Strategies International, Dr. Pierre Coutu,
announced today that his firm had been selected to provide
support in the management of the world’s first
truly global course-based accreditation programme designed
for the airport management community.
The Airport Management Professional Accreditation Programme
is a joint initiative of Airports Council International
(ACI) and the International Civil Aviation Organization
(ICAO). Successful completion of the Programme will
lead to the issuance of the IAP (International Airport
Professional) designation whose holders will be recognised
by both ACI and ICAO as having achieved highly rigorous
standards for expertise in the field of airport management.
Dr. Coutu commented: “A programme for airport
management professionals of this caliber and nature
has long been due. The concept was discussed many times
in many years but it needed strong institutional support
to come to life and today it has, finally, thanks to
the visionary leadership of ACI and ICAO.”

I see this as the opportunity for us to make tremendous
strides in the field. We owe it to ourselves and to
the people we serve”.
